I was very culture-curious this month. I read a hilarious mix of ancient classic texts and dirty smut books (for research purposes). (Like actually. I’m writing a YA fiction right now). Perhaps as a result, I ended up doing deep dives on “modern” sex, sexuality taboos, feminine pleasure practices, a little investigation of kink and power play. I also had to look into why today’s books are written… so poorly and with so little texture in comparison to the tales of old. It was interesting.
Watch list was mostly just my old favorites. I started an anime for the first time since COVID. Because of my travels back to the lovely New Mexico, I spent a few weeks streaming nothing but Johnny Cash—which I can’t recommend highly enough. This is all compounding for a few writing projects I have ahead of me, but for now, they’re just listed out for your investigation.
